No flip flops but nice sandals will be cute you could use some strappy sandals that are flap but have some nice maybe even Jewels on them. Flip Flobs are way to simple. If you want soem height use wedge sandals.

Natalie, think this way: who can see your feet if they are under a full length dress? I say you go for comfort, wear sneakers or flip flops. All that matters is that you make it thru the day in the most comfortable way.

When I got married (am divorced now), I wore low-heel shoes but if I had given it any thought back then, I would have worn sneakers.

If I ever get married again, my footwear will be my bare feet. On the sand. Simple wedding. Just wear comfy clothes, pajamas are fine. Have fun.

I am going barefoot then putting on flip flops for the reception! Go for whatever makes you comfortable!!! Whose says you have to wear heals or even shoes for your wedding ceremony??? It’s your day…do what you want!

My cousin didn’t like high heels. She bought white tenis shoes and had them covered with rhinestones and other frilly stuff. It was different, but it still looked good.

A nice pair of wedge white shoes.

I wore bright red Scottish dance ghillies. They’re a lot like ballet slippers only laced up the foot and around the ankles. they looked great peeking out from my wedding gown which just grazed the tops of my feet.

Right now flat shoes are very popular. Take a look around and see if you can find an attractive, comfortable pair. Please, though, unless you’re getting married on a beach in a sundress, don’t wear flip-flops! If you absolutely must, at least save them for the reception after things have loosened up a bit. This advice comes to you from a woman who lives in Birkenstock sandals, by the way. There are times when formality counts more than others. Your wedding day is one of them.

Is your problem with the fit of your shoes? If your feet are extra wide or you have a very high instep and aren’t aware of it, that can cause a lot of problems with fit. Have your feet properly measured in a shoe store and see if that helps you find something comfortable.

Good luck finding something that makes you and your feet happy on your big day!

Flip flops would be a blast. Bejewel them, use ribbon, beads, stitching, anything you can think of. I’m going to wear cowboy boots or Converses. If you go barefoot, you could wear a jewelry, floral or crocheted anklet. Pretty French pedicure might be in order & a toe ring if you like them.

Congratulations! Hope your day is blessed & beautiful.

I’m going to be wearing ballet flats for mine, I found a very comfortable pair. Outdoor weddings tend to be less formal, so I doubt your gown is full-length for formality and convenience reasons. A nice pair of crocheted flats would be pretty, and comfortable. Or, if you’re having your wedding on a beach, why not go barefoot? Make sure your area is checked before hand for glass or anything else potentially harmful, then just find a nice pair of sandals or flip-flops for your reception. Good luck and congrats!

I wore flip flops! I actually wore blue flip flops and they were my something blue :) Why not? They are comfortable and in most wedding dresses it is impossible to see your shoes.
So my advice to you is to wear whatever is the most comfortable to you.
    Have fun and good luck!!!

Flat white leather very simple plain shoes with cutouts. They were slingbacks. Don’t wear flipflops – anything but.

The shoes I have aren’t technically ballet slippers since they don’t have that stuff in the toe to stand on. They are basically a sole with the satin shoe part. I also have a pair of canvas Mary Janes that I’ve tricked out a little if I decide I want something sturdier. (Sandals and flip-flops are out for me since I don’t like toes lol) If I’m uncomfortable it’s going to show on my face and in pictures.

Whatever you choose make sure the heel for the ceremony and reception are the same height. If the heels are diff. your dress will either drag the ground and might trip you or it will be too short and look funny. Another thing I figured out really quick is that when you do your fittings make sure you practice walking, especially backwards! It sounds wierd but when us women are dancing we end up most of the time walking backwards. We found out that we need to hem the crinole (slip under the dress) an inch or two higher in the back so it doesn’t get caught under my feet!

Not all ballet slippers are painful. A lot of wedding gown salons do sell specialty slippers if heels aren’t your thing. I have done quite a few wedding where the bride and even the bridesmaids decided that flip flops would be their best option. Since flip flops don’t have much support, I would suggest putting stickable inserts in them since you’ll be standing for quite some time. They were much happier in the end.
