Stay away from black or white…and even silver! I wore a champagne dress to my friend’s wedding and I wore gold shoes (this all depends on the shade of the dress…i.e. the lighter the dress, the lighter the shoes, etc.) You can also try champagne colored shoes. Check out the links below:

My dress is champagne and I am praying the shoes I already have match (they are lighter champagne, I bought them years ago and they happen to be close in color!). If not, I am thinking gold because my dress has tons of gold and broze beading. If not gold then I will probably just buy whatever I can find in my size that’s close. I though about dying and then i realized there is only one pair of dyeable available in my size and I don’t like them lol (I wear a 6.5 AAA).

I would stay away from black, that sounds awful to me lol! What about the color of your BMs dresses? That might work, I am also considering that.

Champagne, Gold, Ivory, or dark brown…but I think that champagne would look best! Good Luck!

My bridesmaids wore champagne/bronze dresses for our May wedding this year. They all wore gold shoes of various shades and styles (whatever they wanted, really). I thought this looked so much classier than shoes dyed to match, and of course, the bridesmaids appreciated buying shoes that they wanted to buy and could definitely wear again.

If you do decide to go the gold shoe route, plan to buy the shoes around Christmas… this is when you’ll find the best selection.

Payless shoes uses a company called DYEABLES to sell a white shoe that can be dyed to match any swatch of clothing. If you want to save money, that’s a route to go…

If you’re looking for a better “class” of shoe, ask a retailer for their advice on getting a pair of dyed shoes.

Dance websites also offer every color under the rainbow… and yes, they dye shoes too.

Personally, I would choose a shoe and a color that I would wear again. If the shoe was a highlight (wearing a shorter dress, above the knee), I’d go as close to champagne or nude/beige as possible… or even black in a pinch. If the shoe would barely be seen (long dress), I’d go with a black for sure.

Then again, I’m REALLY into black shoes! ;o)

If you cant find the same colour as the dress you can get the shoes you like and let a skillful shoe maker place the same material you used for the dress on your shoes hence you will get the perfect wedding shoes that will match your wedding dress.
