You would probably be comfortable with a ballroom dance shoe with a heel no higher than 2-1/2 inches. Some of my friends think it is no big deal to go to a tango festival and take 4-1/2 hours of classes and then go dancing for 5 or 6 hours in the evening every day for a week.

Visit your local dance wear store. It is important to support local businesses. The people on staff at the better stores will know how to fit you. For those who have not previously worn dance shoes, don't expect them to fit the same as the dress shoes you would wear to work or to church. It is generally best if ballroom shoes are tight. The salesperson at a dance wear store can best advise you.

Yes, they are comfortable, a lot of people get them as their wedding shoes.
Ballroom shoes is a better option than Latin because they are center balanced. Latin shoes are forward balanced, they'll push your weight forward. Besides, Ballroom shoes (pumps) are a lot more fitting to a formal occasion in my opinion.

Yes they are, one of my students wore them and she was glad , after ALL day and a night of dancing she said they were more comfortable than the 39 high heels , 42 flat shoes and 12 bridal sandals she tried.

In short, yes. If you can find a pair you can afford (which may be harder than you think) then these are a perfect idea for a wedding! Ballroom shoes are stylish and super-comfortable. They are made for people who will be on their feet for extremely long periods of time. Congratulations on your wedding! Good luck on starting a new part of your life and blending it with that of your fiance's!!

no don't do it! ballroom shoes are kinda chunky. for the ceremony wear a ballet slipper and wear you cute but not painful pretty shoes to the reception, either way you will be bare foot by 1/2 way through the reception. most brides are...i was. lucky for me my husband isn't that much taller than me so i didn't wear heels to make him taller. whatever you end up wearing just rock it with a smile and enjoy the day. i wore my shoes around the house for a few days to break them in. prevents a painful day.

I've never tried ballroom dance shoes, but my tip for you is to splurge on a pair of high-end/designer regular shoes if you can afford to. The difference in the comfort level is AMAZING. I can't spend five minutes in a 4+ inch heel below $100 without struggling to walk, but I spent hours in a $400 pair of 5-6 inch heels, with NO discomfort at all during or after.

Whatever you do, I hope you find a comfy shoe option for your big day!
